Press release: Dodie Bellamy is many things, and one of them is a teacher. In the context of her college courses or her informal writing workshops, she has mentored hundreds of younger writers, which has inevitably left a mark on parts of the Bay Area's literature and poetry community.
Linda Bakke, Michele Carlson, Victoria Gannon, Carlos Jackson, and Ismail Muhammad have all studied with Bellamy - some recently and others not so recently. They come together to read their work, and, by extension, to provide an introduction to a new generations of Bay Area writers and poets.
